Sinking Ship Entertainment enlisted Dainty Productions to craft animation for the award winning Apple TV series “Jane.” In Season 1, Episode 9, “Rangifer Tarandus,” we were tasked with animating a narrative that explores a deep connection between a herd of caribou and the Dene people. This episode addresses themes of respect, responsibility, and sharing, drawing inspiration from rich indigenous stories.
At Dainty Productions, we harnessed our proficiency in 2D animation to vividly portray these themes, ensuring our animations complemented the live-action footage to enhance the story without detracting from its core message. Our colabortation with Spotted Fawn, an indigenous studio known for its culturally genuine designs, was crucial. Together, we ensured the animation not only bolstered the narrative but also paid homage to the indigenous culture it depicts.
